Overborgmesterens tale
Som tidligere annonceret var vi, Den lille havfrues vikarbureau, nødt til at aflyse den planlagte fejring af den lille havfrues fødselsdag i 11. time. Årsagen var, ganske dansk, vejret. Herr Overborgmester Frank Jensen var inviteret til at holde festtalen. Efter aftale med Frank Jensens sekretariat kan vi her bringe den tale, der skulle være holdt. I stikordsform. Hensigten, budskabet og ordene har stadig vægt, selvom de ikke blev udtalt som plangt! Tak for talen! Anledning...

Todays stand-ins – Per, Izabella, Jannie and John – started off accompanied by the Swedish Police Senior Big Band backdropping the scene with The Sound of Music schlägers… Per, stopping by on his way from Amsterdam to Gothenburg, unfortunately wasn´t able to borrow his sailing costume from the good 1150 tons threemaster “Götheborg” but decided to follow his promise through and struck a pose wearing a crew shirt. AFLYST: Den lille havfrues fødselsdag — august 2010
AFLYST pga. massive regnmængder Den lille havfrues fødselsdag plejer at blive fejret med et pressevenligt show, hvor svømmepiger i samme antal, som den lille havfrue fylder år, hopper i vandet og svømmer sig en solid hasvømmevtur. Det kræver gode muskler, og der rekrutteres traditionelt derfor kun trænede svømmere fra danske svømmeklubber. I år er det dog anderledes. Ingen svømmepiger; ingen lille havfrue på Langelinie, for hun er i Shanghai, Kina i forbindelse...

Ironmen, young men (above) and a fisherman and a whole lot of other stand-ins for the Little Mermaid statue stood in for her on the infamous friday 13th that seemed grey at start, but soon after a visit from the first booked mermaids changed the mood on peoples faces in downtown Copenhagen.
