Todays stand-ins – Per, Izabella, Jannie and John – started off accompanied by the Swedish Police Senior Big Band backdropping the scene with The Sound of Music schlägers…

Per, stopping by on his way from Amsterdam to Gothenburg, unfortunately wasn´t able to borrow his sailing costume from the good 1150 tons threemaster “Götheborg” but decided to follow his promise through and struck a pose wearing a crew shirt. We look forward to posting photos from his voyage later on – be sure to see some big waves and lots of mermaidfoam on them

Izabella had a different story prepared presenting her transgendered self in a wonderful dress and a strong message to the crowd – “I am not really a Mermaid”! Izabella handed out pamphlets describing her reason to temp on the rock – to shed light on the prejudices and poor conditions that transgendered persons live under. Read more about her and all transgendered persons´ cause on www.transdanmark.dk

Jannie followed with something completely different – a conversation with Italian tourists carried out in a pace that was faster than the speed of sound… What they talked about had something to do with Milan, Kate Moss a party last night and posing eyebrows `the day after´ she eloquently translated to us bystanders afterwards

Last but not least John dressed in a kilt and a small arsenal of canned beers showed everyone a glimpse of what goes on in Nyhavn after the sun sets
